Current & Wind at Pink Shell Resort (#96)

We stopped for one night at the Pink Shell Resort in Ft. Myers. We were warned about current, but we had both current and wind when we arrived Ted devised a plan for us to tie off a pier to get in easily and we had a good entrance on try #2.

We weren't able to get a slip with starboard side stern-in, so we went bow in. Turns out this was good because the current was so strong.

We met the owners of this magnificent solar conversion of a Rinker. The owners say they can go as fast as 6 knots on all battery and solar power. We told them about our friend Bryan on RingUl8tr who is currently in the Bahmas on his converted boat.

Walk to restaurant called Snug Harbor in Ft Myers.

We made sure we left on slack tide (the calm between low and high tide), and we had an easy departure.

Stay: 1 night

Pros: Free Laundry, Restaurant on site, Trolly to Ft. Myers out front

Cons: Walk across busy street to restrooms, pools, etc, area recently hit by hurricanes, strong current
