Beautiful Travel Day to Myrtle Beach (#113)

Our trip to Myrtle Beach was one of the prettiest on the whole Atlantic ICW. It reminded Laura of Canada. We even had a stretch that was called the rock pile where we had to navigate through rock ledges. No big deal since every day in the Georgian Bay and Thousand Islands were a rock obstacle.

The trees were interesting.

Getting a bridge opened can be the focus of our entire day of travels.

We found another Lulu's on the ICW. This is the restaurant where we went so often when we were in Orange Beach, Alabama.

The lighthouse is a marker to the entrance to the Myrtle Beach Yacht club. We decided to stay a week in Myrtle Beach to wait out weekend storms. This allowed us to get a better rate on a slip, complete our oil changes, and rent a car for provisioning.

The marina was solid, and people were nice. There was a very steep ramp, and one lady was in a walker. She told me she had fallen with groceries and now needs a walker. There is a significant 6 ft tide swing, but the ramp still remains very steep.

We were tucked away and with the 30-40 knot winds, we were not battered around very much.

Laura went on a long walk on the beach in Myrtle Beach. There were a suprising number of Jellyfish on the beach. Laura went barefoot and then it seemed like there were little bits of jellyfish on her foot. She had a lovely walk, but the jellyfish were a bit unnerving.

These Turtles could be seen at the end of the dock.

The ramp going to the dock could get very steep with the 6 foot tide swings.

This was a safe stop, but there are many places we had passed we would have liked to have stayed longer.
