Atlantic City, here we come!
We decided to take the off-shore route in the Atlantic to go to Atlantic City. We looked for a perfect weather window, and found a brief time on Tuesday (5/21) morning where the wind was very low and other Loopers were also going to Atlantic City with us.
First thing was we needed to get gas from Utsch's marina. We filled up 150 gal to get ready for our next leg of the trip. As we were leaving the marina, the fog descended to about 200 ft visibility. We turned on our radar, went 6 miles per hour, and waited for the visibility to improve. However, we ended up with limited visibility the entire 45 mile trek. We remembered how to use our foghorn and cruised through some rolling swells. Once we arrived in Atlantic City, the fog dissipated and our visibility improved.
In this picture below, we are literally passing another boat that we should be able to see.
The fog broke a little so we could see Atlantic City in the distance when we arrived.
Also, the wind picked up. But we were able to get fuel and dock successfully on the T-head.
See our boat above the star in this picture.
This is the upclose of our boat on the T-head.
Ted figured out a creative way to get groceries across a bridge that didn't have a bike lane. He drove the dinghy and brought the cart for provisioning.
