We've had a rough couple of days.
When we were preparing to leave Blind River, we were unable to start the port engine. We have had this issue off and on in the past couple of weeks. We tried the emergency start, and the engine started up but made a different "tic, tic, tic" sound. We eventually determined the best course of action was to get out of the extremely remote North Channel location of Blind River and make our way out of Canada to the USA at Drummond Island Yacht Haven on our starboard engine.
We were able to travel on one engine fairly seemlessly. Our docking was the least graceful part of the whole adventure. Once we arrived, we asked if we could have mechanics come look at our engines. They were very busy, but said they would come take a quick look after hours at 4:30pm and they determined our engines wouldn't turn over and were hydrolocked.
The marina staff has had a backlog of work from the winter, but has prioritized our boat to help us on our journey. The most recent diagnosis is a crack in our manifold. They expect the repairs to be completed by the end of next week.
This is the view of our boat on the steel barrier wall from across the marina.
The marina also has a beach in front of many summer cottages.
This is the view from our boat after we arrived looking back at the marina.
This is a picture of the ferry docking area we used to leave the island to take Laura to the airport and back.
We appreciate all the support from our Looper and local boater friends we have met along the way. We were lucky to have our friends from Full Moon join us for a couple of days as we worked through our initial diagnosis. We are at the stage in our Loop where we get to "Loop-frog" and see more and more of the same familiar faces each stop.

Sunrise departure of Full Moon.
We will add more about our adventures after we complete our time at Drummond Island Yacht Haven.
End of part 1! To be continued....
