We had a fantastic trip following our buddy boat (Therapy) to get to Wright's Marina in Britt, Ontario.
Laura was nervous about all the rocks, and so we asked if we could buddy boat with Therapy to our next stop. We met together the night before and they shared their carefully planned routes. When we were on the water together, we established that we were both comfortable with 9.2 miles per hour for our journey.

All was going well and then the route started to get narrow.

And got narrower.

Laura was thrilled that we made it out safely. And Ted asked for pictures, especially leaving the channel.

And our buddy boat took this wonderful picture!

And then the bouy markers got more and more challenging. It was impossible to see the markers here denoting the rock hazards - but they are red, green, red, green in a straight line - which essentially means that you are zigzagging at idle speed. Luckily we had no wind and only canoes were on this part of the route.

This sign states "SITE OF THE ORIGINAL BARREL DENOTING SAFE PASSAGE THROUGH TURBULENT WATERS." Note the barrel on a stick at the top of this rock.

We were able to see some fabulous scenery together, and then make the joint decision to go the outside route for the second half of the trip. Whew!!!
The fun thing about this marina town, Britt, Ontario, is that the fabulous docking staff shows up at all the town establishments (restaurant, grocery store, ice cream shop and marina). We had a lovely stay and enjoyed great conversations with locals and Looper friends.

This is the boat ramp for the boats that go back and forth to this small island. The young dockhand told us his grandfather owns this island.

This is the marina parking lot. These two houses that are build on this rock. Having had issues with my foundation in Texas, I admire this strong foundation.

Views from walking back from the grocery store/restaurant to the marina.

View of the marina from the road.

We enjoyed a beautiful sunrise at the Marina overlooking the island behind us.
