Heading to St Pete's in Fog Parade (#92)

As we were leaving in dense fog, we heard a boat telling us they were coming up to Tarpon Springs. We had three boats and two fishing boats in a line heading out. We followed our friends on Strummin Along.

Once out of the fog we could see more of the homes along the ICW.

We had a beautiful clear day.

We travelled with Strumming Along and Runaway. Strummin Along called the bridges and we followed along. Our clearance is 15 ft and theirs is 22 ft. Along the ICW, instead of locks, we need to coordinate our travels around bridge openings.

We arrived to get fuel at a dock up the river from the marina. Many smaller boats were getting fuel and we barely fit.

The dockhands pulled us up far so we could reach the fuel line. The pumpout was at a separate location so we decided to wait for the next stop.

After a long day, we had a great meal at Red Mesa Cantina.

Beautiful sunset.

St. Petes from Savadore Dali Musuem.

We met up with Ted's high school friend Ken and his wife Phyllis and spent the day with them seeing St. Pete and visiting the Dali museum.

We had planned to stay several days, but because of a fabulous weather window to cross Tampa Bay, we left after only two days.

Stay: 2 days

Pros: Walking distance to town, Good bathrooms, laundry, floating docks

Cons: Long walk to restrooms from some slips (ours was close), many sailboats, 30amp service on same line so we needed to use two poles for our splitter to work for our 50amp service (not wired correctly)
