Thanks to our buddy boat, Legacy, we got our coveted picture of the Sparkling Star in front of Lady Liberty. The haze seemed to lift once we approached for pictures.
The day started off again with a fog advisory. We now are very familiar with our fog horn, AIS, radar, and running lights. Luckily we left at 6am on a Sunday morning and not many people were out on the water. Also, the fog advisory probably kept them at home. We trudged forward at a slow pace hoping for the fog to clear.
We were looking for fuel for us to make it up the river to our next stop before another rough weather day. After taking not so great pictures by ourselves, our friends staying at Liberty Landing where we got fuel offered to go back to take these magnificent pictures for us. After all the craziness, we were excited to get out of the New York harbor. We reluctantly went back for the pictures, but are so glad we did.
We followed our buddy boat Legacy up the rest of the way to Half Moon Bay. Many loopers pick this as a favorite spot to see New York. We were able to make many new connections and friends here. Since we did so much, I create a separate blog for our adventures.
Half Moon Bay Marina
Rocky and rolling pier in the waves and wind.
