We made our last stop on the Chesepeake in Chesapeake City, Maryland at Schaefers Marina. We were instructed that the direction that we will face when tying up along the wall will depend on the current. We needed to face the current and give them our bow lines to pull the boat in for us. We docked without issue on a fixed dock with 3 ft tides right next to their restaurant.
Ted took the dingy out for a ride for a quick trip to the other side of Chesapeake City!
Our friends' daughter and husband graciously agreed to deliver us our power cord and other supplies from West Marine. We gave them a quick tour of our boat and shared our immense gratitude.
Marina Review
Schaefers Canal House and Marina
Stay: 1 night
Pros: Extremely nice and knowledgeable staff who helped us tie up easily, great view of the boats passing by, quieter than Chesapeake City Bay, easy to leave.
Cons: Close to the restaurant, fixed docks with 3 ft tidal change, not near other restaurants, marinas or museums in Chesapeake bay except by dinghy.
