We found ourselve alone at this stay because of the shallow entrance. Our draft (distance of boat under the water) is 3ft, but we always tell marinas that we draft 4ft. On entrance, we saw depths of 4' 7" and we stirred up some mud on the way in. We were relying on this stop to help us with fuel for our next long legs with limited fuel opportunities. We added the fuel bladder to accommodate the differences.
On our way to Peoria, we saw these boats goiing over to the river banks to cut brush that they placed in the front of their boats, presumably for hunting.
This was a barge on the riverbank that shows what it looks like underwater.
We had a wonderful brunch once we arrived early in the day. It was a great day to relax.
When we arrived we filled up our fuel bladder here.
